Granite State Bushidokai is a martial arts club founded by Raymond Sosnowski, Walter Harms, and Michael Pitaro. While the main style is based on Shotokan karate, the overall purpose of the club is to enjoy the artistic benefits of all martial arts styles. With the popularity of mixed martial arts and competitive styles, Bushidokai hopes to keep rememberence of the traditional styles while recognizing the populartity and evolution of modernity.

The opening ceremonies took place in 1999 at Brookline, New Hampshire. In the years since, the sons of the founders Tim Harms and Michael Pitaro Jr. enlisted in the US Air Force and US Army respectively, giving them training and competition opportunities accross the country and world.

While our ultimate goal is to have our own training space, we link to some of the clubs we worked out with and highly reccomend them.

Recent Events

Moving to Juneau Alaska has been quite a change from my life in New Hampshire. The city is inaccessable by road. Travelling to the nearest city (Whitehorse in Canada) is dependent on the Alaska Marine Highway System. Putting your vehicle on the Ferry to Skagway and driving the rest of the way to Whitehorse is a planned trip for the future.

I recently started training with Complete Warrior MMA Academy.
